My new blue kettleball

Andrew brought one of these little babies home the other day. It's my new best friend. :)
It came with a workout DVD and I think its amazing. It works my thighs, abs, shoulders and arms. Actually, I can feel it work its magic everywhere...a few days of this kettleball thing and I've already seen and felt a big difference! I think everyone needs one...

My New Favorite Thing...

I love them in my eggs, my sandwiches, with chicken... fresh or grilled. I can't get enough.
A year ago, I would never have believed that I would purposely put bell peppers in any of my food! The same can be said of tomatoes, cucumbers, onion and anything whole wheat...
I was purely a white bread ONLY- skip all the veggies- add the dressings and cheeses, kind of a girl.

Now, as I sit here at the computer eating my lunch, I realize that I have officially grown up.
I think my whole wheat pita bread stuffed with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion and delicious bell pepper proves it. Now, I love to eat my fruits and vegetables!
I better stop blogging and get to eating!

Before I Get Too Depressed....

"It's going to seriously make you depressed, but it's so well done that you will love it!" She said as she sat on the edge of her chair. We were talking about books and she wanted me to read this one, THE ROAD.

I came home pretty excited about it and started to tell Andrew how I wanted to get this book. He said, "Why would you want to read something that's going to make you so depressed?!?" Hmmm... I thought.

Days later, at Barnes and Nobles- our favorite place, I was deciding between three books and I grabbed The Road to read the back cover (which I normally hate to do). As I was reading, another passionate woman approached me and loudly said "Get it! You'll LOVE it! You'll need some Prozac afterwards, but you'll LOVE it!"

$16.00, 2 days and 190 pages later, I am in love!

It's the only book I've needed complete silence to be able to read... So, while I read, Andrew watches the TV on mute (aww, that means he loves me).
I will have it finished by tonight, but I wanted to recommend it before I became too depressed. I'll let you know.

UPDATE: I finished it. I loved it. It was beautifully written and extremely engaging. It didn't make me "depressed", does that make me weird?

A Good Hair Day

I have been in search of a new shampoo for several months. I just haven't found one that keeps me happy...except for Pureology, which costs hundreds of dollars (ok, maybe not, but it might as well be). So, until I'm filthy rich, I need something to hold me over. I asked chacha...which is a different post all in itself...but between chacha and some of my own research, I was led to this shampoo:

...and after using it last week, I am certain that I LOVE IT!
You can only use it once a week, so I'm still using my regular shampoo (for now), but It made a big difference in hair day!
PROS:
I noticed a difference in my hair immediately.
Cleans away all the junk shampoo and hair products leave in your hair.
It lathers better than any shampoo I've ever used!
It made my hair feel lighter and extra clean.
My hair looked shiny!
Con:
Smells kinda weird, like bad cologne

I think you will really like this product! It only costs like, $5 at Target. Go get it!

p.s. if there is a shampoo that you love, PLEASE, tell me!

I Wanna Hold Your Hand!

In the health section of the newspaper today there was an article talking about the benefits of holding hands! I loved it because I've believed it all along! When I was sick and pregnant, I would feel such a difference anytime I was touched... especially when Andrew would hold my hand.
According to research done by a neuroscientist at the University of Virginia, brain scans have proven that women who are under stress will be calmer when they hold a mans hand...even if that man is a stranger, but most dramatically if they are close. The study also showed that holding hands can in fact lessen pain, alot like a pain killer! The article said that happily married women are the greatest beneficiaries. So ladies, lets squeeze our husbands hands a little tighter!

Bottom line: Touch is a really powerful thing.

WINCO

I know this is silly, but I just discovered WinCo and I love it. I kept turning each aisle more and more excited. They have everything there... all kinds of flours, noodles, cereal, dried fruits, wasabi green peas, pet food, candy and my favorite, granola! Probably 8 different kinds! All in these dispenser thingies. I really wanted Andrew to come with me and see how amazing it is (plus buy more granola), but I knew if I said "Andrew, I want to take you to a grocery store", he wouldn' t see the fun. :( So sad. So I said, "Honey, I wanna take on you on a suprise date! :) hehe. Which worked out pretty good... yum.
