Blondie

Andrew has wanted this to happen for a long time. :)

Whenever my hair badly needs a change I always stay safe and usually prefer to go darker... but this time, when my husband recommended some yellow, I listened... mostly, because I am a such a GREAT wife, but also because I'm quite fond of his opinion. :)

Blonde I became.

I think you can really notice outdoors....

It's been a little weird to get used to, but I'm glad I did it. It was a fun and much needed change!!

An extra ring around my trunk

So, last year I called one of my best friends on her birthday and said"Happy 25th birthday!!!" To which she said,"um, you know I'm the same age as you, right?"

Of course I knew that....wasn't I 25?

So confused....that's the day I found out I was 26.

I enjoyed being 26 for a few months, until yesterday, when another birthday came and made me 27! :)
It was a fun day and I felt spoiled from the start.
In the morning, Andrew took Ashton away and let me sleep in (till like, 10am...it was heaven!), my mom came over and took me to lunch... she always lets me choose, even though its her birthday too. We went to the Olive Garden, where we ate bread sticks, endless salad and chicken parmesan. Then, we picked up our favorite chocolates at See's Candy and ate them all...oh, well I did. :) Andrew and I rented a movie I've been wanting to see. My nurse came to clean my picc-line and make it beautiful. I got new king size pillows for our king size bed and I ended the day just laying on those comfy pillows and watching my fun cousin pet a tiger and refuse to pole dance on the tv show he's on...Paris Hiltons New BFF.
The best part was celebrating the day with two of my favorite people... My mom and mother-in-law who both share my birthday-day. June 2nd is a great day to be born and it's nice to know what age you are!

Hugs and loves when your insides are coming out

Someday I will stop blogging about my falling apart body and horrible sickness, but for now it's the only thing really going on in my life...so just bear with me a few more months, yes? Thank you. :)

Basically, I throw up. Alot. And as disgusting as it is to talk about, I wanted to share the only good part about it with you all...

So, I just lay in bed all day and when I feel it's time, I rush to the toilet where I sit Indian style and lean in. (Sorry, if it's already too detailed...it'll get better...)
In the beginning, Ashton would run in with me and pat my neck and give me hugs from behind until I was done.
A little awkward when your insides are coming out, but so sweet and adorable.

Then he got more involved and after the long hug, he would "demand" several pieces of toilet paper to throw in before the flush.

After a week or two he took it to the next level and started mimicking me. He would spit and gag right along with me into the porcelain bowl. Then pat my neck and grab the little t.p. pieces to throw in before the flush.

As disturbing as it may sound, I really felt comforted knowing I wasn't alone in those horrible moments, and that my little boy loved me and was taking care of me the best he knew how.

This past weekend, while I was throwing up, Ashton was in bed with Andrew and started making his gagging sounds. We both thought he was playing "throw up time" 'cuz I was, but we quickly caught on that it was the real deal and daddy rushed him to me at the toilet where he threw up all of the food he ate that day. It was so sad, but he leaned in and knew what to do. :(

I hugged him from behind and patted his neck and when he was done I gave him little pieces of toilet paper to throw in before I flushed.

We had taught eachother just what to do.

Something Old, Something New...

I was talking to Charis, one of my besties, on the phone a few days ago. We were talking about our weddings and if there was anything we would have changed. We were both laughing about the one silly detail that slipped through the cracks... we both had AMAZING wedding days.

Then, after hanging up with her, I realized something.... Both of my sisters have pictures of them shopping for their wedding dresses and trying them on! I wish I did that. I was a little bit sad as I wondered why my mom didn't love me as much as my sisters... deep sigh. :)
Then, while at my parents house yesterday, I found a file full of these:

I totally forgot!

She does love me!

And so, yes, I did have the perfect wedding after all.... although, I do kinda regret not wearing that fun puffy wedding dress above. :)

Stacey's Six Quirks

I've been tagged!!!

Here are six of my odd habits...

#1. I can't blow dry my hair in one solid session. I just can't stand still that long! I flip the switch on and off, maybe, nine-ten times before my hair is dry. Always have. Always will.
....but I can't be alone on that one. Right?

#2. I have to rinse my cup out. twice to be exact. I'd rather go thirsty than drink from a cup straight out of the dishwasher or cupboard. It can be very inconvenient and hopefully not rude, but it's out of my control! Oh, and I prefer plastic.

#3. I ALWAYS make a grocery list and update it a few times a day, but when I actually go grocery shopping I NEVER bring it with me.

#4. I switch out all the pictures from their frames regularly. I don't know if it's because I love so many pictures or because I can't stand them that long. I do have two that I wont touch.

#5. (Andrew helped me with this one...thanks honey).
When I tell a story or describe something, I say the same thing in as many different ways as possible to make sure you totally get it.

#6. I can spot even the smallest thing moving in the room. So, I'm constantly looking for bugs on the ceiling or floor.

Hopefully, I helped at least one person feel normal.... or at least not as strange as me.
What are some of your quirks?

What I Wasn't Expecting When I Was Expecting...

I was just thinking how a few short months ago, no matter how hard I tried, I could not imagine my little boys face. And how now, I could not imagine my life without his little face!
A few months ago I also wouldn't have been able to imagine that...

  • a little 17 pound person would take up more of the bed than I do.
  • waking up 4-6 times a night would be sooooo normal.
  • If I had extra money to buy something fun, I'd end up in the baby section... everytime!
  • my purse would evolve into a full-on diaper bag.
  • I could ever share a straw or spoon with anybody!... Let alone a person that drools and puts everything in their mouth!

...I seriously had no idea what to expect and now that I know, I couldn't imagine it any other way!

Animal Print

Anyone who knows me knows I'm obsessed with Tigers! So, it was the best thing ever when Tim was able to get us an upclose visit with these beautiful animals! (Tim-you are my favorite bro-in-law ever!)
I think there were 9 Tigers all together and we were able to walk right up to their cages. The best part was hearing them ROOARRRRRRRR! It was loud and frightening! It was the so amazing and these are just a few pictures to prove it! :)
